ABOUT
Dr. Honor Doro Townshend (BA(Hons), MsC, PGCert, PhD) is a presenter, researcher and lecturer in all thing’s true crime and Criminology.
Her recent research projects have looked into illicit substance use, gender identities and crime, the darkweb, and deviant subcultures, but she has a background in the study of all elements of Criminology, from theory to criminal justice.
She has multiple papers and book chapters published across a variety of topic areas, and has worked as a Presenter and Expert Criminologist for programmes across Channel 4, Channel 5, Discovery, Crime + Investigation, Vice World News and Amazon Prime.
RESEARCH AND PUBLICATIONS
Honor is a lecturer and an active researcher, having published 8 journal articles and book chapters since 2021.
Her areas of interest are: Image and Performance Enhancing Drugs; Illicit drugs and drug policy; Gender identities; Idealised contemporary masculinities; Subcultural identities; Dark web research; Netnographic research methods; Novel research dissemination (e.g., traditional media, graphic design and social media); Subcultures and subcultural identities; Ethical approaches to true crime and victimology.
